Marvel’s Avengers Vs X-Men #11 comic book has gained media buzz for featuring a Phoenix-powered Cyclops, killing [SPOILERS] X-Men founder Charles Xavier. Some fans noticed similarities between this and Xavier’s death scene in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, where Jean Grey’s Dark Phoenix levitates him to his ultimate demise.
I AM SO PISSED OFF ABOUT THIS!
They better revive him or even do what they did in X3-He saw the future and sensed this would happen and then he transfers his mind into another mind!
Why should they revive him? The only reason they killed off Xavier is because he hasn’t done anything for the last 5-6 years. I like Xavier too but the writers don’t know what to do with him, especially with someone else in charge of the X-Men. Unfortunately, he’s better off dead.
Jean-Pierre you have to undertand the concept of the story of the deal between characters coz if Jean grey was dead by protecting her team that becose she was afraid of what,s going to happent to the team so she was thinking to protecting the team about the agresive whater so if jean is dead oviosly was poseseed by the phoenix and when logan and ororo monro wend to her in to the mansion there isn,t jean any more there was a phoenix inside to her body so in that day the phoenix whoked up and she when to her house where she belong and Prof Xaver is staring to worry so much about her and magneto and xavier when to visit her to help thinking of jean but she wan,t jean she was the phoenix so charles insist that he wana help her and jean doesn,t wanto to to get help by charles so he insist so charles he staring to clearing things abou the memories of scott and in that moment of scott jean was staring to get furious and she use her force to levitated charles and in that times both staring a thelepathinc war between the phoenix and Xavier so the phoenix was furios and killed Charles with the phoenix Mind he was crushing by peaces so there you go the whole concept so it was very shocking that war day between Charles Xavier and the Phoenix so heavidly sad
I stopped reading when you failed to use any punctuation cause I really don’t know what you’re trying to say. I’m sorry if that upsets you.
I don’t know. But the two of you has a point. Maybe they can do is, making Professor X alive only by using of astral projection like what he did in Wolverine and the X-men..
No one reads comics anymore. Not in print media form. They play X-Men Video Games, and watch X-Men Movies. Xavier’s death in X3 may soon be resolved if they do Days of Future Past in the movies which is what I think the film makers are hinting at. No one liked X3. But this event in the comics is rather not interesting except as tabloid trash.
Claiming nobody reads comics is wrong in itself. I read them in print media form and I know of a others that do as well.
The comics suck! All they do is crossover, kill character, revive character, relaunch the entire series, its a mess!

I understand your point, however for the older fans for X-Men, they see this as a ‘wtf’ moment. He has done alot in the past 5-6 years, he has been their mentally, he doesn’t need to be in the battlefeild. But since they have killed him off, I guess what they should do now is make him come back either as himself or a spirit. I disagree with what you say, sorry
Even though I have only been religiously collecting comics for the last 10 years or so, I would call myself an ‘older fan’ of the X-Men mostly because I really LOVE the vintage stuff from the 60s. I’m a huge fan of the original five and feel as if they’ve been unnecessarily forced apart over the years.
With all that being said, I’m not talking about Xavier being in the battlefield at all. I think this is one place where we’ll have to agree to disagree. Since Messiah Complex where Xavier got shot in the head, there was a brief arc of about 4-5 issues that featured Xavier. They were pretty good. After that it shifted to Rogue, Gambit and others. Other than that Xavier has appeared sporadically in some of the other books. He was hardly a presence in Schism and he was just brought in to AvX to get killed off. It’s as simple as that. Being there mentally doesn’t accomplish anything if readers can’t see the character. He has hardly been mentioned or acknowledged over the last several years.
To be quite honest Xavier has no place in the current Marvel Universe UNLESS his character changes. I have nothing against Xavier. He’s a great character. But the focus is just not on him anymore and for such a major character, that’s a problem. His rivalry with Magneto doesn’t exist anymore. The world has surpassed that conflict. It’s beyond that now. It’s beyond trying to co-exist with Humans.. do you know why? They’ve been having this fight for 60 years and you know what.. it’s just not working. That’s why Scott took the stance he did in the new incarnation of Uncanny. Humans hate and fear us? So what? They should because we’re more powerful they are and we’ll defend ourselves if push comes to shove.
Now, do I think it should have been Xavier that died? No. It was only done to get rid of the character (whether it’s permanent or not) and it was also done to get a bit of a ‘WTF’ factor as well. Comic book readers aren’t so easily fooled though and we know that he’ll probably be back one day somehow.
AvX was only done to bolster the Avengers and make them appear superior (the Avengers is now the cornerstone of Marvel) as the X-Men have been thrashed about consistently for the entire run. It’s not even AvX anymore.. it’s Everyone vs Cyclops and has been this way for most of AvX. With Marvel NOW, Marvel has really crippled the X-Men franchise (a franchise that was the cornerstone of Marvel for so long), and I’m really interested in seeing if the X-Men will lose their identity over this.
I have to say I agree with a lot of what you said. In my opinion the X-Men need Storm to take leadership again. Her strength, compassion, integrity, and determination to do what’s right is what made her such an amazing leader all those years. Storm knows how to make hard decisions while still keeping the integrity of what it is to be an X-Man and keep Xaviers dream alive. It’s high time for Storm to make a come back and revive the X-Men.
hey hey hey guys there is no worryes so big deal if prof Xavier died when the phoenix killed him there is a new life for every one so there could be a reborn for all the X-men so there no such thing can killed marvel on X-men so there are lots of posibilities there are guarenteed for everyone that is for sure no debut so don,t u dare worry coz there is a posabilities for new life with a new characters that is for sure so lets continue
