20th Century Fox Film co-chairman Tom Rothman has reportedly been forced out of his job at the studio, with Jim Gianopulos set to become sole chairman. In what was one of Hollywood’s most successful joint leaderships, Rothman and Gianopulos distributed the top-grossing films TITANIC and AVATAR, and oversaw the successful franchises ICE AGE and X-MEN!
“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Tom for more than a decade.” said X-MEN director and producer, Bryan Singer. “We grew the X-Men franchise together from the ground up. He is passionate, intense, funny and always a step ahead. I know his next steps will be just as adventurous as his last.” [LA Times]
I glad he got fired. It was because of him that we had X-Men 3, which no one liked. Titantic and Avatar are puke. I hope this means they say No to his other lackey, Jim Cameron, the man who likes to ruin movies.
Titanic wasnt a puke.. Avatar wasnt that bad at all.. but i agreed with x3 thing..
Yes, Titantic was puke as was Avatar they had no scripts.
X3, FANTASTIC 4, RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER, WOLVERINE and ELEKTRA were all failures, DAREDEVIL was ok in my book, but then again we did get X-MEN, X2 and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS which were great, I hope whoever steps in his place has better judgement on what fans want from their comic book movie properties instead of what they think is best for the general audience.
