Zoë Kravitz (Angel) and Álex González (Riptide) are not returning for Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. They join January Jones (Emma Frost), Jason Flemyng (Azazel) and Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee) as actors that aren’t returning for this go-around. It’s unknown if Lucas Till (Havok) and Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) will reprise their roles; Byrne said in January that she was “still waiting” to hear word.
After the departure of “First Class” director Matthew Vaughn, the sequel began to track closer to that of the original trilogy. Vaughn previously said that his film was intended to be more of its own thing, instead of a direct prequel to 2000’s X-MEN; other crew members were saying the exact opposite. He expressed interest in including one new character, and possibly using the idea of Magneto controlling the bullet which killed President John F. Kennedy. Singer’s vision appears to be very different.
Filming is expected to begin on/around April 15th for a July 18, 2014 release. The cast includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, and Peter Dinklage.
I dot really care if they’re back or not. I just am wondering who is yet to be cast considering filing is suppose to start on the 15th. Btw wasn’t it confirmed by Patrick Stewart Ian McKellan and Bryan Singer that filming starts on the 15, because I want to see BTS photos already
Yes, Bryan Singer said April 15th a couple months back. Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart mentioned an April start too. I’m glad Bryan is on Twitter – we’ll be getting lots of cool sneak peeks!
well, he did say that, but with Jennifer Lawrence is filming a movie in Boston and Halle Berry announcing her pregnancy it seems like both the “past version” and the “present version” of the team are in trouble…
Azazel, such a badass and cool character with connections with Mystique and Kurt and dopped like this. such a waste.
Similar case to Emma, one of the most important characters of the comics history. She could have had a role on the sequel, even if she wasnt working with Magneto anymore, but still a supporting role
I agree. Azazel and Emma should have been saved. Magneto having a telepath on his team would’ve been a major threat against Charles and the X-Men…oh well, I guess the actors still have options for future films, but who knows where this franchise is going after DOFP.
Same here.. I’m dying to see Emma Frost and Azazel in the film.. They are the ones who can clear up the story with exchanging memories with the future x-men..
I think this is the right time to bring back the original Toad and Sabertooth in the brotherhood for the Past Team and add new characters for the future Brotherhood Team..

I guess this is going to be Avengers X-Men Style. If this movie makes $$$ (I consider it will outgross THE LAST STAND) then we will probably get a proper FC sequel (with all of them back, an X-MEN 4 (with the original cast) and probably another Wolverine movie with other spinoffs possibly following.

Yeah, I was wondering if this will split in two, post-DOFP, so the FC can get a true sequel.
I think we can safely assume that Rose Byrne won’t be returning. I’m gonna’ go ahead assume the same for Lucas Till. That just leaves Xavier and Beast in the X-Mansion. Singer’s told us that the movie takes place in multiple time periods, but mostly the seventies. So my question is; never mind Magneto’s brotherhood, who are the X-Men in the 1970’s?
That’s what I’m wondering too. IMO, this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Cyclops and/or Jean on the 70’s team.
I am glad they are not returning. Sure they did fine in First Class but I think everyone wants to see the original X-Men actors return and I think we are getting that. More and more; Days of Future Past is looking like it is replacing and repairing the damage caused by Last Stand
