Bryan Singer teases X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST in issue #236 of SFX Magazine (available May 29th), and talks about how time and destiny will play a role in the film.
“It’s not just another X-Men film,” says the director. “It’s not just about the combined cast, as there will be certain technologies and other stuff that we haven’t seen before in the X-Men films.
“There are also issues of time and we’re messing about with that. I think we’ve got it figured out. I pitched it to James Cameron when I was in New Zealand last year and he said, ‘Yes, that makes sense.’
“We wanted an opportunity to bring some of the favorite older and younger characters together. We also wanted to play with the notion of different times and stuff like the way that time affects destinies. It enables the film to not just be a sequel to First Class or X-Men 3 but to actually be its own thing.”
I hope they move forward with the original cast after this movie is released!
I trust Bryan Singer.. I know this going to be an epic movie..
I hope they will split this one up. Two films at least. That way it won’t be too fast paced (LAST STAND was always in a hurry) and the characters will have more time to shine.
I see no reason why they can’t use this as an opportunity to move forward with the original cast, whilst also giving us a third film featuring the ‘First Class’ cast – set in the eighties this time maybe – that sort of wraps up their trilogy.
I think that could be very cool…
So cloud atlas meets x-men?
