James Mangold’s THE WOLVERINE came in at #6 during its third weekend at the box office. The film brought in an estimated $11 million (48% drop), bringing its domestic total to $111.9 million. With foreign numbers at around $196 million, the film has a estimated worldwide total of $307 million.
While “The Wolverine” is grossing lower than all previous “X-Men” films domestically, it has surpassed the first two “X-Men” films and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” in foreign markets.
Budgeted at $120 million – not including marketing costs – the film is already seen as a definite success for 20th Century Fox both financially and critically.

Much better internationally than any X film before!
In fact it will easily outgross THE LAST STAND to become the most successful X-Men film abroad. And let’s not forget that it has not opened yet in China (huge 3D market) and of course Japan (I expect collosal numbers from there).
Oh wow – I forgot it hasn’t opened in China or Japan yet. This film is set. 🙂
