Debunked: Hugh Jackman offered $100 mil for 4 X-Men films?

Update: “No it’s not true,” says Jackman to Entertainment Weekly. “I would never do that. I’ve never done that mainly because, for the fans and for me, each time I’ve gone around there’s been a really good reason to do it and I don’t know what that reason is from here. I’m in the middle of making this and I just promoted the other and I’m really happy with the way The Wolverine came out.”

“X-Men” vet Hugh Jackman has previously gone on record saying that he’s dedicated to playing Wolverine, not wanting to hand over the claws to another actor for some time. But is the actor willing to sign on for FOUR additional films upfront? According to gossip trade The National Enquirer (yes), the actor has “allegedly” been offered $100 million to do just that.

Lots of money, but insiders say he may turn it down. Apparently Hugh is weary of signing on for such a long-term deal.

“Hugh has a big decision to make,” a blabber-mouthed friend tells the tabloid. “It’s not every day an actor gets offered this kind of paycheck, but Hugh vowed never to lock himself into any multi-picture deals after ‘X-Men.’ He hasn’t given any kind of answer yet, so at least he’s considering it.”

But will Hugh’s wife be ok with the deal? The actor previously revealed that his wife has been against him playing Wolverine from the very beginning, wanting him to focus on more serious roles and not having to deal with his crazy diets and workout habits.

“Hugh won’t make any decisions without her approval,” said his pal, “and their friends are betting she’ll have him stick to their ‘one movie at a time’ rule.
