Fantastic 4 exists in X-Men’s universe, but no crossover yet.

Despite Bryan Singer saying he had plans for a “Marvel Universe mash-up” movie after DOFP, 20th Century Fox’s Marvel consultant Mark Millar tweeted fans that “there is NO crossover planned” for the X-Men and upcoming Fantastic Four reboot franchise. He did confirm that both properties will “exist in the same universe” but “stand alone” from each other… at least for now.

The correction came after various news sites reported that a crossover was planned. Even we once posted a rumor of Sue Storm possibly cameo-ing in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”.

Millar recently told SFX Magazine, “Without question I think you have to see some of these guys showing up in each other’s movies. I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until The Avengers came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in Iron Man. Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool – and I expect we will see more of that.”

So there’s definitely potential for a crossover to happen, but it’s likely Fox and friends will want to successfully establish the franchise first, before bringing in the mutants.
