Thanks to MovieWeb we know that Logan’s iconic comic book costume was originally supposed to appear in THE WOLVERINE. The suit – designed by Legacy Effects digital modeler and sculptor, Adam Ross is shown displayed in a case. I think this could have easily appeared as a gift that Mariko gives Logan at the end of the film.
“This is the costume that I modeled for The Wolverine.” says Ross. It was unused in the final cut of the film. Everything in the box is digitally modeled and 3d printed. There is no cloth or leather used in these parts, but rather texturing added in ZBrush. (Photo shown with permission).”
Uh…that’s awesome. Why did they not tease this? Deleted scene perhaps?

They should use it. Dang, but I prefer the darker yellow of it than the bright one.. bright yellow looks cartoonish..
This was something that was apparently in McQuarrie’s script. Though he apparently describes the brown & tan version.
It’s difficult to say whether it was Aronofsky, or Mangold who took it out, but considering how critics reacted to Viper and the Silver Samurai, it was probably for the best.
That being said, I’m beginning to think it might be more possible to get away with this now. Back when they were making the first X-Men movies, and the world still had VERY vivid memories of the campy day-glo, neon mess that was Joel Schumacher’s Batman films, the bright yellow & blue (or even black) would have been disastrous for the movie. Now though, with audience’s having so many examples of it having been done right, particularly in the case of The Avengers (and even to some degree in X-Men: First Class), I’m beginning to think it might be possible to get away with this. It would still have to be done carefully, and I do wonder if it would be possible for audience’s to accept Hugh Jackman particularly, in something like that, but it certainly seems more likely to work now, than it did before….

I love it, but not sure how the mask would actually look being worn. Would’ve been great to see this displayed like this in the movie as a gift.
im pretty sure Hugh tried to wear it.. I hope there is behind the scene pictures of it..
It is in the large flat box Yukio carries onto the plane at the end, in the background, while Logan and Mariko have their moment in close up. Check out the image with the Japanese icons – It’s the same box.
So annoyed it was not in the film. Fans would have gone crazy! Maybe there was a conflict with DOFP or something? Hopefully we get a deleted scene.
Looks like Crap. Yellow Spandexwould not work on film, or this is just another shit fake story that this crap site made up. Which is likely.
