20th Century Fox denied the rumor from Aint It Cool News, which alleges that X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST was filmed in 48fps and will release in the higher frame rate. Theaters typically show films in 24fps. “The Hobbit” released in the format to mixed reviews. The “upgrade” is somewhat controversial, with viewers complaining of image quality being almost too crystal clear, making movie sets look super fake and such.
“X:DoFP was shot in HFR and will be released in 48fps,” reports the site. “The filmmakers played coy because of the negative reaction to the technology when the Hobbit film was released, but love the results and will be standing behind a theatrical release in high frame rate.”
The movie filmed in native stereo 3D.
Awesome!
I fully support this. 3D simply works better at 48fps. The more it’s used, the more people will get used to how smooth it looks as well.
I didn’t enjoy The Hobbit, but it had nothing to do with the high frame rate.
Yeah I heard that 3D is much better using a higher frame rate. Smoother, less blur?
It dramatically reduces, even eliminates ‘ghosting’ or ‘crosstalk’, as the 3D folk call it. Which is that moment when the two images seem to diverge, and blur while you’re watching.
Ugh! Seriously?!
Fox is denying the news…for now. 🙂
I haven’t seen the Hobbit but based on the trailer, it looks fine to me, maybe because it fit for its genre.. but for XDOFP which a bit darker story, I hope they can pull out this type of quality.
I really wanted to see the movie in great quality of image in a realistic scene and effects but if this thing will make the film absolutely unbelievable and fake, then its better not to do it.
for 3D, I hope it fits on being a 3D movie, unlike what happen to The Wolverine which I paid too much for 3D but in the end, there is no feeling of image coming out from the screen thing, like the other 3D movies. I have faith of this movie that they show us some of the action scene that will make us jump in our seat while wearing a 3D glasses.
