James Marsden spoke with Entertainment Tonight about Tye Sheriden being cast as the younger version of Cyclops in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE:
“He’s such a class act, this kid, like very gracious, very grateful,” says Marsden. “We touched base briefly and I just told him how happy I was for him. He wanted any tips, any advice and I just said ‘You don’t need any, you’ve got it.’ I’ve seen [him] in the movie Mud and all the other things he’s done. He’s a spectacular actor and just naturally gifted, so I didn’t want to take him off course [laughs] take him away from his instincts. He knows what he’s doing and I’m very happy he’s cast.”
Sheriden joins X-Men newcomers Sophie Tuner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Oscar Isaac as En Sabah Nur and Ben Hardy in an undisclosed role.
The film begins production next month for a May 27, 2016 theatrical release.
