The cast and crew of FX’s upcoming ‘X-Men’ based television series LEGION appeared on a panel at New York Comic Con last Sunday to preview the show’s pilot and answer questions from attendees. Fans were treated to the first half of the pilot, which was met with resounding success. Footage showed a wheelchair in the opening scenes, alluding towards Professor Charles Xavier being his father.

Creators of the show said they tried to stay true to the origins of the character and that they’ll actually use the main character’s point of view, mutants powers and mental issues to “fudge the lines” of whether the show takes place in the X-Men’s cinematic universe or an alternate/parallel universe.

Marvel TV producer Jeph Loeb was on the panel along with longtime X-Men film producer Lauren Shuler Donner, marking a new collaboration between the studio and the makers of the X-Men films. Loeb said “Me sitting here is a sign of bridging these worlds,” but he gave no promises of a future crossover actually happening between Marvel and 20th Century Fox.

A few videos from the event are available, including interviews with the cast, which you can view below.

Attendees also received this NYCC-exclusive poster:

“Legion” will air on FX in early 2017.
