New casting additions for minor roles in X-MEN universe film THE NEW MUTANTS.

The IMDB page for X-MEN spin-off THE NEW MUTANTS features two new casting additions: Happy Anderson (Gotham) has been cast as “Reverend Sinclair” aka Craig Sinclair, the mean-spirited biological father of Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams).

The Marvel Database describes the comic book character as “first appearing as a leader in a mob to kill his daughter Rahne (who believed him to be her foster father). He raised Rahne with a strict religious and moral code from a young age to compensate for his own lapse in character which led to her conception, as she was conceived from an illicit relationship, and was convinced she was possessed by Satan when her mutant powers of lycanthropy emerged. Rahne was saved by Dr. Moira MacTaggert and Rev. Craig left her to be raised by the Doctor. He later appeared again with the Purifiers alongside Reverend Stryker. He then appeared a few times fighting the New Mutants.”

In other casting, Mickey Gilmore (Spin the Plate) was cast as a coal miner, which is likely a very minor role. It’s possible he might have connections to Cannonball, who comes from a coal-mining Kentuckian family.

“New Mutants” is currently filming in Boston and will reportedly move to Montreal for the tail-end of its production for a April 13, 2018 theatrical release.
