New DARK PHOENIX photo shows Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey being manipulated.

A new promotional still from DARK PHOENIX has found its way online thanks to X-Men: Mutante & Orgulhoso (@mutanteorgulhosobr) on Instagram. It features Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) being manipulated by a mysterious being (Jessica Chastain) who intends on weaponizing the Phoenix force.

Although the name “Jones” has been thrown around for Chastain’s role, that’s actually believed to be the name of actor Ato Essandoh’s character, who shares scenes with her. Director Simon Kinberg previously said that Chastain will play a mixture of characters from the comics. So far we’ve seen notes of Mastermind, Emma Frost and alien empress Lilandra.

There have been a few photos released from this scene, which also includes Chastain conversing with James McAvoy’s Professor X.

Dark Phoenix flies into theaters on June 7, 2019.
