The Walt Disney Studios announced their updated film release schedule which includes a new theatrical date for director Josh Boone’s THE NEW MUTANTS film. The X-Men spin-off will now release in theaters on April 3, 2020.
The film been pushed back multiple times (April 13, 2018 to February 22, 2019 to August 2, 2019) due to various factors, which include scheduling issues for previously planned reshoots and Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
It’s unknown if those reshoots will ever happen — they were meant to make the film scarier and add a couple characters — but with extra time to work on the film, that’s always a possibility. Of course the cast may look a bit older!
