20th Century Fox’s DARK PHOENIX ended its run in theaters on August 15. According to Box Office Mojo, the final amount earned in the USA for Simon Kinberg’s directorial debut is $65.9 million from 70 days and 10 weeks in domestic theaters.
In other countries, the film earned $186.6 million, which brings its worldwide total to around $252.4 million.
Despite a percentage of fan and general audience support, Dark Phoenix officially earned the title of lowest-grossing X-Men film. It’s also one of the worse-reviewed entries in the 19 year history of the long-running series.
TheIt may do better on home video release since many people decided to stay at home until the next Disney theatrical release.
The emotional, dramatic and thrilling X-Men finale arrives on Digital HD September 3 and Blu-ray September 17.
