Famed artist Bill Sienkiewicz commented on THE NEW MUTANTS director Josh Boone’s reply to @the_man_spider on Instagram regarding the film’s rating and how it works with a horror aspect.
“The movie has always been and will always be PG-13,” writes Boone. ” There was never a plan for an R-rated movie.”
Sienkiewicz tweeted: “The atmosphere, mystery and tone of Josh’s direction makes it work. The cast is stellar, not horror tropes who split from the group 1 by 1 like idiots only to get offed. They’re a team united; forged by the horror, and that’s new take. Bravo Josh & Co.”
In an earlier tweet, he described the movie as “Cold, dark, and frightening.”
20th Century Fox will release the long-awaited second trailer onine Monday, January 6.
The New Mutants arrives in theaters on April 3, 2020.
