While everyone pretty much knows 20th Century Studios’ THE NEW MUTANTS is getting a PG-13 rating, the latest promotional materials for the X-Men horror thriller reveal exactly why the film received the rating from the Motion Picture Association of America. It’s for violent content, some disturbing/bloody images, some strong language, thematic elements and suggestive material.
AMC Theatres is also listing a 1 hour and 39 minute runtime, making it one of the shortest films in the mutant franchise to date. Fans shouldn’t be too concerned about the film being edited to hell, as this is reportedly director Josh Boone’s preferred cut of the film. Star Anya Taylor-Joy even mentioned recently that he was “very happy” with it and it’s “very much his film.”
The New Mutants will frighten moviegoers starting April 3rd.
