DARK PHOENIX writer and director Simon Kinberg joined fans in celebrating #XMenDay on Instagram by sharing a bevy of behind the scenes X-Men photos; some previously seen and a few brand new ones.
“Happy X-Men Day. Forever mutant and proud,” he wrote.
The most notable image (#8 of 10) features Kinberg directing Cyclops actor Tye Sheridan in the very expensive and unused third act United Nations sequence, which saw the Skrull D’bari aliens invading and attacking world leaders. This specific scene was going to have Cyclops and Jean sharing an emotional moment in the midst of chaos.
