Speaking with Empire Magazine, DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS producer Richie Palmer addressed Patrick Stewart’s voice being teased in the film’s trailer. We’re all expecting to see Charles in the film, but is this a completely different Charles?
“I’ll quote the first X-Men movie and say, ‘Are you sure you saw what you saw?’,” he laughs. “There are infinite versions of these characters, and just because you may have heard something familiar doesn’t mean it’s someone you have seen before.”
With the multiverse and variants in play, it’s possible this is a Charles from a universe we haven’t seen. The character died in the original 20th Century Fox series, so taking this direction would make sense. Especially with MCU proper X-Men still on the horizon!
