Shocker! Disney+ announced today that R-rated superhero flicks DEADPOOL, DEADPOOL 2, and LOGAN will grace Mickey Mouse’s streaming service starting Friday, July 22nd. Blood, guts, cursing, and a tad amount nudity, oh joy! At this point, it appears Marvel Studios is committed to keeping Ryan Reynolds’ merc with a mouth a character for mature audiences; at least in his solo adventures.
Reynolds celebrated the occasion, tweeting: “We’re supposed to announce Logan and Deadpool will soon be the first R-rated movies on Disney+. But we all know some Disney movies should already be rated R for irreversible trauma.”
Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman followed up, saying: “No amount of mutant healing factor could heal these emotional scars. Great movies for family night in!”
The timing of this all has many believing a DEADPOOL 3 announcement is imminent at Comic-Con International in San Diego this week, or at the D23 Expo on September 9-11.
