Speaking with BBC Radio 5 Live, longtime Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman expressed his excitement and anticipation for filming DEADPOOL 3 with Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Real Steel).
“I never thought I would,” said Jackman about going back on his “one last time” promise. “I know I’m going to have more fun here. For all our banter, [Ryan and I are] great mates, and I know what it’s like to work with him.
“I feel it’s something completely different to any of the things I’ve done as Wolverine,” he continued. “It reminds me of… do you remember the vintage 48 Hrs [movie] with Nick Nolte, Eddie Murphy? Totally, all of that. I’m like, oh, we’re just going to have a blast. The film is shaping up so well, but at its core, it’s just, in a way, these two people who are stuck together, that hate each other, and full of banter.
I think it’s just going to be so much fun. The director’s someone we both know; he’s a longtime friend of mine. So I’m just really excited by it, and I just want to do it. I mean… Ryan’s been begging me for five years, and I was always like, no, sorry man, I’m out. Like, I know I’m really out. So he didn’t believe me when I first rang him, it took him a second.”
