Karan Soni confirmed what we all assumed: there’s a boatload of cameos in Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine! “This new MCU version is ultra-secretive,” he told Variety while attending a pre-Oscar party on the Paramount lot. “There are a lot of surprises. Let’s just say a lot of people traveled to London.”
A bevy of cameos are rumored, which you can view here. Literally everyone in the FoXverse is up for grabs. For example, we already know Jennifer Garner is returning as Elektra. A recent story even confirmed Vinnie Jones was asked to reprise his role as Juggernaut (he turned it down).
Gushing over Hugh Jackman for a moment, Soni shared what it was like to see the actor return as Wolverine.
“He walks in and you’re just kind of staring at the person and you’re like, ‘OK, this is a movie star.’ He’s very kind, very nice and has such a presence.”
It’s great to see Jackman return to the role that made him a household name. We have Ryan Reynolds to thank for that, the Canadian who just wouldn’t give up, annoying Jackman to no end until he gave in.
“When we were making the second one, Ryan was plotting back then,” Soni continued. “I remember him spilling that at lunch one day that he had started a conversation with Hugh. I remember saying, ‘People are going to flip out!’ Then the studio got sold to Disney and a lot of other stuff happened. But, of course, Ryan followed through because it was dream casting.”
