T. J. Miller is leaving the door open for a possible return as Weasel, the fast-talking bartender and friend of Wade Wilson, in a future Deadpool movie under Marvel Studios.
Speaking with WRIF, Miller addressed whether fans might see his character again in the franchise led by Ryan Reynolds. While he stopped short of confirming anything concrete, the actor made it clear the possibility hasn’t been ruled out.
“It has not sailed. And that’s all I’m going to say about that,” Miller said. “Marvel gets so weird about this stuff. They’re just like, don’t talk about it, don’t talk about it.”
Miller also shared that Reynolds has already discussed ideas for the next Deadpool film with him, and whatever comes next could be even more unexpected than Deadpool & Wolverine.
“And I will also say that his idea for the next Deadpool film is, like, really good,” he explained. “He told me the idea. I kind of got hair on the back of my neck standing up because I was just like, I didn’t think you could do something that’s even more different than Deadpool and Wolverine. And I think he has.”
While the project may not be imminent, Miller suggested the concept is already brewing behind the scenes.
“I think, you know, it’s in the chamber. I don’t know when that’s necessarily going to happen because he’s got a couple other projects going.”
Miller added that the two have remained supportive of each other over the years, particularly given the often harsh environment of online discourse.
“He’s come to be a real friend and he’s kind of had our back, and I’ve tried to have his. The internet is just such an evil, cruel place… it’s so despicable.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding future installments, Miller made it clear he’d welcome the chance to share the screen with Reynolds again.
“I’ve come to say it would be a lot of fun to just joke around with him again. Just because I think he’s so, so funny.”
