It’s official! Blue Beetle is returning to the DCU!

According to Variety, Xolo Maridueña is set to reprise his role as Jaime Reyes, better known as Blue Beetle, in the upcoming DC Studios Superman follow-up Man of Tomorrow. The news marks an exciting step in building the interconnected DCU under James Gunn and Peter Safran’s leadership.

Maridueña first brought Jaime Reyes to life in 2023’s Blue Beetle, introducing audiences to the young hero whose life is forever changed after bonding with a mysterious alien Scarab. The film showcased Jaime’s journey to becoming one of DC’s most unique and powerful young superheroes, while also highlighting the importance of family and community.

Now, fans can look forward to seeing Blue Beetle return alongside the next generation of DC heroes. Man of Tomorrow, which is currently in production and directed by James Gunn, is shaping up to be one of the franchise’s most anticipated projects.
