Marvel Studios is giving fans an early opportunity to secure seats for one of the year’s biggest blockbuster releases. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney plans to begin selling domestic tickets for premium Infinity Vision screenings of Avengers: Doomsday on July 20, which is nearly five months before the film arrives in theaters on December 18.
The early ticket release follows Disney’s introduction of its new Infinity Vision large-format theater experience, created after IMAX screens were committed to another major December release for Dune: Part Three. The move also reveals an expected (but not final) runtime of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, making Doomsday longer than Avengers: Infinity War but slightly shorter than Avengers: Endgame.
Audiences will also have the chance to experience Avengers: Endgame on the big screen again when Avengers: Endgame Encore returns to theaters on September 25, with Infinity Vision showings also available.
The early ticket launch comes just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, where Marvel will debut the first full trailer during its Hall H presentation on Saturday, July 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. PT. Some form of a footage presentation is also eXpected for Monday’s ticket launch.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday brings together an impressive lineup of Marvel heroes to face the multiverse’s newest threat, Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. The film also features returning MCU favorites alongside characters from the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Black Panther franchises.
