In its third weekend at the box office, Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST dropped out of the top three, landing at number four with $15.2 million (53% drop) in the states. Domestically, the film has earned $189.6 million, with analysts predicting a $220 million total when all is said and done.
It’s stuck under X-MEN: THE LAST STAND ($234.3 million) and X2 ($214.9 million) in the states. When ticket price inflation is factored in, it also falls below X-MEN and X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE.
Foreign markets brought in $42.1 million over the weekend, making its current haul a very impressive $421 million. Combined, the film has crossed the coveted $600 million mark, with $610 million worldwide. It’s on track to reach the next milestone at $700 million!
Worldwide, it’s the top-earning X-Men film EVER.

What’s wrong with you Amercians? You were supposed to let this film earn at least 300 million at the domestic BO.
Internationally it’s one of the biggest FOX pictures (well deserved).
700 million is all in. Maybe even 750 million.
I’ve seen it three times now. Last weekend my theater was practically sold out. X-Men films just don’t make a crazy amount here. Maybe because it doesn’t have the kid audience like Marvel gets. My theater was filled with 20-50 year olds. “X-Men: The Last Stand” will still reign supreme as biggest earner in the states. Hopefully “X-Men: Apocalypse” tops everything.
Well the X franchise is a little more mature than the Marvel films. There were no kids in any of the 5 screenings I have seen here in Europe either.
X-Men passes Spiderman at the domestic BO. Spiderman 3 being pushed back to 2017! Sony is in trouble.
