X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST dropped below the million mark for the first time and brought in an estimated $650k during its ninth weekend in domestic theaters, bringing its total to around $230.4 million. Will DOFP be able to dethrone X-MEN: THE LAST STAND and its $234.3 million haul?
China is the largest foreign earner with more than $116 million. Worldwide, Bryan Singer’s blockbuster is the highest-grossing “X-Men” film with an estimated $735 million! As a whole, the entire franchise has brought in over $3 billion in box office revenue over seven films in 14 years. DOFP, along with “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “The Fault in our Stars” and other successful releases, helped 20th Century Fox become the first studio to surpass the $1 billion mark in 2014.
