20th Century Fox has upped the theater count for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST this weekend in hopes of gaining extra box office receipts during the Labor Day holiday. For a limited time, moviegoers can watch mutants of the future and past on the big screen once more before it comes to Digital HD on September 23rd and Blu-ray/DVD on October 14th.
Would be cool if this allowed the film to inch past X3 at the domestic box office to become the highest grossing X-Men film to date.
Regardless, it is the highest grossing world wide which is what really counts anyway. 🙂
Passing the box office of X3 would be a just reward for Days of Future Past, which fixed the plot screw-ups of the Bret (the rat) Ratner film.
Won’t happen I am afraid… but Apocalypse will surely do.
