Casting for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE began last month in Los Angeles, New York and most recently moved to London. The Wrap (which provided the image above) reportedly has word on which actors are being shortlisted for the roles of Jean Grey and Cyclops.
Chloe Moretz (If I Stay), Oscar-nominated Hailee Steinfeld (Ender’s Game) and Elle Fanning (Maleficent) are being eyed to play a 1983 version of Jean Grey, while Ben Hardy (BBC’s East Enders), Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar) and Charlie Rowe (TV’s Red Band Society) are being considered for the role of young Cyclops.
Both Moretz and Fanning are said to have already met with director Bryan Singer.
Since it’s still pretty early in the casting process, no official screen-tests have been made. It’s very possible that other actors will be considered for these respective roles.
To many fans, Jean Grey and Cyclops are the heart of the X-Men, and casting the right actors for these roles is essential.
Who would you cast from this batch of actors? My choices – Elle Fanning and Timothee Chalamet.
While I’m pretty sure the actresses are talented. I don’t think they are the right fit for Jean Grey. I really think they could do better. She is my favorite character, and please don’t ruin it for me. I could really see Sophie Turner for the role.
Agreed, Sophie kills any of these choices as Jean. She has an awesome presence, tall, beautiful, and comes from the beloved and praised Gane of Thrones, and hasnt appeared on a movie franchise yet. Definetly a much better choice as the iconic Jean
Elle Fanning and Chloe Moretz are pretty which is good for the casting but I hope they can pull out the character. Any of the two, im good at it.
About Scott, I have no idea who are those guys. Can they chose Logan Lerman instead?
Logan Lerman as Cyclops would be my top choice.
Logan Lerman could definitely pull it off.
He will. I wonder why they dont chose him. He got the leadership aura. I bet he can portray it well..

I think Kat Graham would be better for Storm.
I love Kat Graham for Storm. If they want to go much younger, I’d pick the actress who played Rue in Hunger Games.
Maybe it’s good to have Chloe Moretz as Jean, She has already do the telekinesis thingy in Carrie, So she has more experience.
Yes, when I was watching Carrie I was thinking she was basically Jean Grey there. I think there are other characters much better suited for Chloe, but if she gets the role, I won’t be upset.
How about Odeya Rush?
