Deadline reports that six talented ladies are on the shortlist to portray the female lead, possibly for that of Copycat, in DEADPOOL. Actresses Morena Baccarin (Homeland), Taylor Schilling (Orange is the New Black), Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf), Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Red Band Society), Sarah Greene (Vikings) and Jessica De Gouw (Arrow) are up for the role.
The leaked script made in 2010 featured the character Vanessa Carlysle aka Copycat, but it’s unknown what dramatic changes, if any, were made to screenplay since its early inception. Other characters in the original script include Colossus, Ajax, Garrison Kane, Wyre, Blind Al, Sluggo, Weasel and others.
Starring Ryan Reynolds as the title character, the film begins production late March in Vancouver for a February 12, 2016 theatrical release. It will be directed by Blur Studios’ VFX wizard Tim Miller, with a script by writing duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg will produce.
