Director David Slade is attached to direct 20th Century Fox’s new upcoming DAREDEVIL tale. Slade was originally in the running to direct the new WOLVERINE film before the studio went with Darren Aronofsky, who has now departed the production.
Via Twitter, Slade says “WOLVERINE, there have been no discussions about this project to date. Interesting to see what will happen with that as the again excellent script by Chris McQuarrie was set largely in Japan.”
Despite rumors saying otherwise 20th Century Fox is actively seeking a new director to begin production by this Summer.
And on those DEADPOOL rumors, Slade says “Love DEADPOOL, was never engaged in the (quite fantastic) script, last I heard studio was looking at comedy directors. None of my business.”
Comedy director for Deedpool, why not. That film was a joke when it was just a script in a comic book that was not one of Marvel’s better comics.
as for this guy making Daredevil (which will be a reboot) he has a long way to go to repair the damge done to Daredevil by Ben Affelick and director Mark Johnson. Bleech.
I liked “28 days of night” – he would be a good choice for THE WOLVERINE.
But I will keep my fingers crossed for Tony Scott. MAN ON FIRE was a masterpiece and I know he would do Logan justice.
