The latest issue of Empire Magazine features new concept artwork from X-MEN: APOCALYPSE! Included is a scene depicting Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) battling an airborne Storm (Alexandra Shipp), while Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) takes cover in the corner.
Does this particular scene take place during a training exercise inside the Danger Room? Or is this a real-life battle between the three young mutants? You’ll have to wait and see!
Last month, writer Simon Kinberg had this to say about where the X-Men trinity are at in 1983: “Scott is not yet the squeaky-clean leader. Storm is a troubled character who is going down the wrong path in life. And Jean is complex, interesting and not fully mature. It’s fun to see someone struggling with their powers when you know one day they’ll become the most powerful person in the world.”
Though we don’t get a super clear look at Storm in this artwork, the description confirms that young Ororo Munroe will indeed rock a mohawk/mohican hairstyle. This is further proven by Shipp, whose been wearing an assortment of hats to hide her wild new cut.
