Original X-MEN trilogy actor James Marsden (Cyclops) tells Screen Crave that he’d love to come back to the franchise and do a new film with the original gang. Recently producer Lauren Shuller Donner claimed that Fox loved a treatment it received for X-MEN 4, which leads into X5.
When talking about X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and possible future films, Marsden said “I know so little about First Class. I’m still happy they’re making the X-Men movies, and Fox is smart they can keep making these movies with the wealth of back story – you could do a spin-off of every character. The challenge of the first was having ten to fifteen characters and having enough time to establish who they are, especially with the years of back story. But I don’t look back and feel any disappointment. I’d love to come back and do a new one with the original group, but they’re busy.”

For me, Cyclops is alive. I wanna see as the leader whats he aways been in comics.

And with The Last Stand looking more and more to being Ignored you can have Cyclops In X4 and X5 without having to spend a lot of time addressing the bad Ideas that went down with The Last Stand.Hopefully we will get several original cast members back with bryan Singer directing.
I loved THE LAST STAND, and I am against his return, would spoil the drama.
That being said, I was never a big fan of Cyclops… so…
I doubt Last Stand will be ignored, But apparently in the story treatment, it will be revealed how the Professor, Jean, and Scott come back.
xavier: how is killing most of the x-men characters in one movie drama. Please tell me. Just cause your not a fan of cyclops doesnt mean he isnt crucial to teh x-men mythos because he is more crucial to teh x-men than any other character. You dont liek him fine but having an x-men film without is a joke pure and simple, like havin a justice league film without superman or batman. And ian mckellen wont return as magneto he has said so himself, halle berry also said she wont return as storm, so who teh hell is left a wolverine whos had the intrigue sucked out of him through constantly being put at the forefront of the films. Wolverine is a great character dont get me wrong but theres alot fo other characters who are great but they decided not to explore them. Oh well. It makes it wost that your a fan of teh movies and have no real understanding of the source material. Someone who understood source materail would not say they dont want to see cyclops in an x-men movie.

I think Anony is right, Xaiver just cos you don’t like the dude, doesn’t mean anyone else doens’t want him to coem back, there is no lader other than storm, without Cyclops. Evryone knows that, and don’t forget it!
Second, I think they should make a come back with the original gang! Having X4 syaing that he is found by Emma and Jean sets fire to the ground and comes back, storm and wolverine have headaches and hear voices that Charles is calling them. Mystqiue wakes up in her natural blue form in a mutant cell and Rouge has the ability to fly and has strength! Then bring a villian and lead it inot X5!

That’s what’s so cool and unique about a team-show like the X-Men! It creates drama and unpredictibility. I loved all the death scenes in X3 (wished they would not undo Xavier’s end in the post credits scene). This creates a dynamic flow, and makes those films so special. You do not need to focus on ONE SINGLE character.
xavier: di dyou even watch the films. You said the dont need to focus on one single character and yet all three movies focused on wolverine. I could tell that even if i shut my eyes and just listened to the films. Superman is part of the justice league iron man is part of the avengers?? wats ur point??
Kill Clark Kent – and there is no Superman
Kill Bruce Wayne (God I hope they will in the next film) – and there is no Batman
Kill Jean Grey – and the X-Men still continue
Kill Cyclops – and the X-Men still continue
My point is, the X-Men are in a unique position. They do not rely on one single hero, they have an impressive lineup. The fact, that they can be replaced creates tension and drama, since the audience does not know whom it will hit next.
In my eyes that’s why the X-Men films are so much better than the average superhero crap out there (with the exception of the Nolan Batman films). I cannot stand to watch the rest… repetitive, boring and you know that the leading character will survive no matter what…
Well guys i don,t know if its an academy or studios might be i mean The Famous like this one x-men films do so i don,t know whitch studios is going to be THe Avenger
saying kill clark kent=kill superman doesnt make sense, because your talkin bout that characters identiry. I can easily say kill scott summers=kill cyclops. And every team could team could continue if their core members die. Kill batman = justice league still continues kill superman = justice league still continues. Kill captain america = avengers still continue Kill Iron Man = avengers still continue. X-men are a superhero team like no other avengers fantastic four justice league. human torch form fantastic four receantly died in the comics, fantastic are still continuing. X-men arent unique in anyway becuase all of these superhero teams have members to replace them if one dies. Its the fact that losng the most important players on your team is always bad. cyclops is teh biggest player on the x-men losing him is bad for teh x-men no matter hwo they replace him with. same way avengers losing superman is bad for justice league even though he could be replaced by superboy or someone else. Kill scott summers =kill cyclops kill cylops = x-men continue. kill clark kent = kill superman, but kill suprman = justice league continues. your talkin bout character identity rather than their intergration with their teams
Cyclops may indeed return, but there is more then a 50/50 change that the part will be recast…..
I think he is coming back.That will be one of the surprises. even if it for just a few scenes.
