The MPAA has announced an R rating for director Tim Miller’s DEADPOOL, which comes as no surprise to anyone. What is a surprise is that we’ll see “graphic” nudity in the film. The full description reads: Strong violence and language throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity.
Going by the released red-band trailers, there will obviously be nudity during some strip club scenes and also an intense sequence of love-making between Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson and Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa Carlysle.
“There is some sexuality in this movie for sure,” Reynolds told Collider last November. “You kinda think you have moments when you’re shooting where you think, ‘This is, uh, a little excessive. This is a comic book movie. Are we gonna get away with this?’ But so far so good. Studio hasn’t crushed us with anything.”
Going into further detail, Baccarin added “[There’s] this sort of passage of time through this really funny sex montage where you see us, like, having sex throughout the holidays (laughs). It was one of my favorite, believe it or not, things to shoot, even though it sucks being naked all the time.”
Fans will get to see just how R-rated things get when the film comes to theaters in just under 30 days!
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, ‘Deadpool’ tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
