Celebrating X-Men Films And Beyond

Director Bryan Singer is filming pickups for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE – Why you shouldn’t be alarmed.

Work on X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is currently taking place in Montreal, as director Bryan Singer took to his instagram to alert fans that he’s currently “shooting a couple pickup shots” with cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel and first assistant director Josh McLaglen.

With just a few months to go before release, this is no cause for alarm as many productions go through the process of “picking up” shots that are necessary for the final film edit. Most times this includes scenery shots or scenes involving just a few cast members, if any. In many cases these are pre-scheduled or planned after the film goes through a rounds of editing. For instance, DEADPOOL was filming pickups/ reshoots in Vancouver three months ahead of its mega-blockbuster release in February.

Singer’s behind the scenes photo shows him seated with snow-covered trees and mountains in the epic backdrop. This would be a perfect setting for Wolverine to go hiking through, right? Or is it just a visual shot? We’ll have to wait and see when the film comes to theaters on May 27th.
