According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rosario Dawson will no longer play Dr. Cecilia Reyes in director Josh Boone’s NEW MUTANTS spin-off, which takes place in the X-Men universe.
A reason for her departure has not been given.
She will now be played by Brazil-born Alice Braga, who stars in USA’s “Queen of the South.”
In the comics, Reyes is a Puerto Rican mutant who has the ability to form bio-force fields around her body when attacked.
In the film, she is said to be a mentor of sorts for the young group of mutants, which include Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy), Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams), Sunspot (Henry Zaga), Cannonball (Charlie Heaton) and Dani Moonstar (Blu Hunt).
“New Mutants” begins production next month in Boston for a April 13, 2018 theatrical release.

The reason movies like black panther turned out nice was because pretty much every one had the same skin color, making it easier to put all the characters in the same shot without turning 1 character into a ghost and the other a shadow.
You feel people of your skin color are under represented in American films? Try being native American or Latino.
Hell you want to see examples of racism between Caucasian people? How many russian characters were played by a Russian or even East European character?
You’re being really hypocritical here. Atleast you got cool movie stars in the US of your ethnic identity playing as the lead actors or main cast.
Compare that number to Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Eastern Europeans and Middle Eastern people. Hell even Latin-Americans.
Why you complain about a little role like this? You got a problem with it make your own movies. You got a problem with your country? Move to another country.
