According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox is looking towards “3:10 to Yuma” and “Walk the Line” director James Mangold to helm the Hugh Jackman-starring THE WOLVERINE. Mangold previously worked with Fox on “Knight and Day”. The studio has furiously been on the search for a new director after Darren Aronofsky left the project. Formal negotiations with Mangold will soon take place, as the studio is hoping to get cameras rolling this Fall in the USA and Japan.
Written by Christopher McQuarrie, THE WOLVERINE follows Logan as he treks Japan on a top secret assignment and falls in love with a mysterious woman whose hand in marriage is already promised to another. When Logan chooses not to back down from his primal instincts he finds himself in-arms with her powerful crime lord father and samurai-wielding brothers.

Mangold’s YUMA was terrific, my favorite Western Movie. I will keep my fingers crossed that negotiations will come to an end and he will sign on to direct.
btw. Hugh is getting in shape (again) after a pause of 2 month. Check out on imdb.

I am not really fan of Wolverine including the XOW, but I watched it for the sake of X-men. I still support this film if it’s official because Hugh Jackman really love the X-men and Wolverine and i’m thanking him for that, but I still prefer to see the X4, Which all important characters are involve not just focus to Wolverine.
I’m not sure about this director but let’s just see…

Accept it, or don’t. For the average Joe, Hugh Jackman IS X-Men. Period. Most people do not know the comics, and they need a leading character. Wolverine is someone everyone can identify with, since every person asks the same question Logan does in the films at least once in life. Who am I? Where do I come from?

Okay… to be honest. I never read the comics, nor did I watch the cartoons… too goofy IMHO (don’t take it is an offense).
I like the more mature, down-to-Earth style of the films: No timetravel, no alternate realities and crap like that.
So honestly I do not care what differences there are between comics and films. For me Victor Creed will always be Logan’s half-brother, Shaw will be a German scientist called Schmidt, and Havok Cyclop’s older brother. Period.
I am looking forward to THE WOLVERINE. Eventhough I really loved FIRST CLASS some characters were underused and the film was filled with plots which could span through a 22 episode season.
