Actress Anna Paquin, who portrayed the popular mutant Rogue across four films, reminisced about her time of the very first X-MEN (2000) and the strong bond she shares with Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman.
“Hugh was the person I was always closest with because I had all my scenes with him,” said Paquin to Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show. “He is still a lovely, gracious human being.”
Jackman got thrown around a lot on the Toronto set doing various stunts, but the actor always remained positive and kind, she said.
“He got put through the wringer on that first one and never ever complained. It’s minus 40 [degrees] and he’s being dropped off some building onto his back over and over and over again. And still has all the time in the world to be a nice, normal person.”
Recalling a bonding moment between the two, Paquin said she “did have to pick cigar out of his teeth, because he couldn’t do it with his claws [out] without causing personal damage.”
