Are there plans for James McAvoy to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Professor X? “Anything I say will get me in trouble on that,” McAvoy told Entertainment Tonight. Don’t get too eXcited just yet, as he follows that up with “I’ve had no contact from them. If they want me to come back, they need to talk to me and there needs to be a good script. They need to want me. When stuff like that happens or doesn’t happen, that’s the reality of it.”
Marvel Studios has been focusing on the original X-Men actors, with Patrick Stewart making an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Charles Xavier, Kelsey Grammer appearing via VFX as Beast in The Marvels, and Hugh Jackman co-leading Deadpool 3 as Wolverine. We haven’t really heard about the 2nd generation cast making comebacks (Alexandra Shipp, for instance, said she’s done playing the character), though projects like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars open the opportunity for some of them to appear.
