Marvel Comics has released a multi-page preview of X-Men ’97 #1 (of 4). The prelude comic limited series based off the upcoming Disney+ animated series is written by Steve Foxe, with pencils by Salva Espín, and cover artwork by Todd Nauck.
“[Executive Producer] Beau [DeMayo] and the rest of the ’97 team gave us a fantastic runway to come up with our own original tale that feeds right into what viewers will get to experience in the new season,” Foxe said in a quote via Marvel months ago.
X-Men ’97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.
