What would you do if you woke up one morning and simply couldn’t leave your home?

That chilling question sits at the center of The Last House, Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi thriller from director Louis Leterrier, arriving on August 7. The film takes a familiar place (a family home) and transforms it into something far more terrifying.

The premise is deceptively simple: a family of four suddenly finds themselves sealed inside their house with no way out. As days turn into weeks and resources begin to dwindle, survival becomes an increasingly desperate challenge. But food and supplies aren’t their only concern. An unknown and ominous force lurks beyond their walls, trapping them inside and turning every moment into a fight for survival.

Greta Lee and Wagner Moura lead the cast as parents forced to navigate an impossible situation while protecting their children and holding their family together. The setup promises suspense and mystery, but also an emotional examination of how people respond when pushed to their limits.

Known for directing high-energy hits like The Transporter and Fast X, Louis Leterrier is taking a darker, more intimate approach with The Last House.

The Last House premieres on Netflix on August 7.
