DC Studios has released a new poster for Clayface, giving another glimpse at the upcoming horror thriller centered on one of Gotham’s most distinctive and tragic villains. With the tagline “Look fear in the face…” the film promises a darker exploration of the character’s origins and descent into revenge.
This film has been Rated R for strong bloody violence, gore, language, some nudity and brief drug use.

Directed by James Watkins, Clayface stars Tom Rhys Harries in the title role as Matt Hagen, a Gotham street kid whose meteoric rise to Hollywood stardom is tragically cut short when the actions of a local crime boss leave him horribly disfigured. Abandoned by his team and with little left to lose, Matt turns to a cutting-edge treatment that miraculously restores his former appearance. However, the procedure comes with an unexpected and devastating consequence: Matt’s grip on reality begins to deteriorate, sending him down a destructive path of all-consuming revenge.
Joining Harries in the cast are Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, Nancy Carroll, and Joshua James. The screenplay comes from Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, with the story by Flanagan, based on characters from DC.
Behind the camera, Watkins leads a creative team that includes director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer James Price, editor Jon Harris, and costume designer Keith Madden. Volker Bertelmann provides the film’s musical score.
Clayface is produced by Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, James Gunn, and Peter Safran. Michael E. Uslan, Chantal Nong Vo, Lars P. Winther, Rafi Crohn, and Paul Ritchie serve as executive producers.
DC Studios’ Clayface is scheduled to arrive in theaters October 23.
