Rob Liefeld watches R-rated DEADPOOL test footage.

Bleeding Cool reports (via the Arizona Comic Con) that Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has seen R-rated test footage from the developing X-Men spin-off, DEADPOOL. The developing film, which will follow Marvel’s own “merc with a mouth,” is being made by by producer Lauren Shuler Donner, director Tim Miller, “Zombieland” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Miller and actor Ryan Reynolds.

“They’ve got a great director on the movie, they’ve got a great script.” said Liefeld. “I may or may have not seen some sort of test of footage that would blow your mind if you saw it and go holy crap and that’s Deadpool in costume. Katana swords, guns, shooting people’s faces off and making me laugh. And I may or may not have seen something that looks just like that. And you’ve got what would amount to the first R Rated X-Men movie. Because that script is R Rated.”

“They may or may not have wanted to shoot eight minutes to see how it would play.” he continued. “And all I can tell you, it’s close. It’s closer that it’s even been to going, or going Naaah, that’s too scary a proposition to make a R Rated Deadpool movie.”

Last September, Shuler Donner said “In the next couple of months we’ll be presenting some things to the studio. Deadpool is going to be way different from any of the other X-Men movies. It’s very crazy, more R-rated.”

Sounds like a hoax… Why would they shoot -“footage that would blow your mind if you saw it and go holy crap and that’s Deadpool in costume. Katana swords, guns, shooting people’s faces off and making me laugh”- for thousands of dollars without having green light to shoot… Take that news from Bleeding Cool with a grain of salt.

THE WOLVERINE probably will be “R” rated… if not in cinemas then as BluRay unrated extended.

The wolverine can be R rated, if you have read the comics…
I’m not on board with the rating for this movie though….

This is a very suspect story. I somehow doubt very much that any Deadpool footage has been done. Fewer people are keen to work with Ryan after Green Lantern bombed, and various sources say the actor has been doing other film work.. Again both Marvel and Fox have said the movies will all be PG 13. The internet is not known for accurate entertainment news.

That’s very vague…. But well. Sounds cool.

I hope for a “R” rated Wolverine movie in 2013. I just hope Fox dares to do it. Kids can go an see Thor 2, Captain America 2 etc. Kids movies… I will keep my fingers crossed.

So true, kids can go and see Captain America, coz they made that family oriented, I mean that movie could have had alot of blood in it.
