Famke Janssen was asked by Total Film Magazine about the rumors swirling around Jean Grey’s rumored appearance in James Mangold’s THE WOLVERINE. She jokingly said “I heard! I’m very excited about those rumours [laughs]. After a three-year hiatus and not being able to work because I was developing my own movie, any roles are welcome. So I hope X-Men 10 comes around, with Jean Grey in a wheelchair.”
Is this just a crazy online rumor or has Janssen actually filmed a cameo? We’ll have to wait and see when the film hits theaters on July 26, 3013.
She did it… according to imdb she filmed an extended cameo in about 5 days!
And even without taking imdb into consideration… Wolverine lost her – his love of life – in THE LAST STAND and went into isolation afterwards… she will appear in his dreams or as a vision of some sort, or maybe in a flashback scene… She IS the X-M(a)n he cared about most… so…
Realistically speaking, his feelings for Jean and the Professor made no sense in the original trilogy as he spent like a total of a week around them.
He arrived in X1.. stayed around until the Liberty Island incident was dealt with (maybe 3-4 days), left to explore his past in Canada… came back.. saw Jean for like 5 minutes before she left with Storm to get Kurt… Saw Jean again when they met up at the jet.. so they probably saw each other for another day (if we’re being generous) and then Jean dies. In that amount of time.. which is probably less than a week there’s no way that Logan could actually love Jean.
Albeit.. all of it was done to ‘bolster’ Hugh Jackman and his character. For me it’s hard to believe though. It was too rushed and I always end up just rolling my eyes when he cries about them in the movies. Logan should really man up.
I think they are saving Jean’s return for Days of Future Past.
