THE WOLVERINE is setting itself up to be one of the more unique comic book films to release this Summer. Director James Mangold went into detail on how his film stand out from the others, when speaking with Total Film Magazine.
“The graphic novel [Chris Claremont’s fan-favourite comic arc] is so adventurous,” says Mangold. “It plunges into these ideas of destiny, honour and revenge – as opposed to your standard superhero sagas, which are generally about some gigantic villain out to destroy the Earth, a city or a football stadium.
“Japan’s such an exotic location, in the sense that language and culture play such a huge role in the movie” he continues. “Usually you don’t find that at all in these kinds of films. To be staking out our own ground and be saying something unique was really liberating for me.”

Patience… this will undoubtly be the best blockbuster movie of 2013.
I hope you’re right.. coz I will laugh so hard if it looks like XOW..
I’m not sure if it’ll be a blockbuster if only for other movies like Iron Man 3 and Thor The Dark World also coming out this year. But, theoretically, this movie should be really good compared to its predecessors. I’m not even a Wolverine fan and I’m looking forward to this. The trailer that we get soon is going to make or break it for me.
thank u for your words Xavierstorma that,s what i m trying to tell everybody without disscussion of course Like Joe and Rob theyre the fighters like i don’t know why anthony accepted in hes website this unrespected ppl they should be banned for rudless ppl and for not respecting everybody
I think Mangold is hypeing it too much. At the end of the day, most will see this as a Comic book/superhero movie. The hero maybe forced to make large decisons, but his heart is in the right place.
It will be different, and I bet most Americans won’t really get into it. I hope this IS an Asian-style film, from the beginning to the end – not just an americanised version of it. I trust in Mangold and McQuarrie’s talents (Cop Land, The Usual Suspects) to make a really characterdriven, emotional film, with cool exotic action.
