James McAvoy says playing a telepath is not so physical.

Splash Page spoke with X-MEN: FIRST CLASS star James McAvoy about his portrayal of Charles Xavier, meeting Patrick Stewart, and the limitations of playing a telepath on screen.

“We’re doing a lot of the opposite, so by the time the movie ends or a sequel might end, you find that he has come toward who he is in those other movies, but he’s got to be a very different person. He’s definitely on the path to becoming Chuck Xavier.”

McAvoy says he was a bit jealous of his castmates due to his character being a telepath which didn’t require much physical work:

“Everybody else is hanging off wires, back flipping off the walls and stuff, and I’m [places hand on temple, looking into the distance] I’m so satisfied right now. I’m so fulfilled.”
