X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will feature the “First Class” cast and not be an “X5” with the original trilogy gang as some fans were hoping for. The news was revealed via Vulture, who reports that Bryan Singer will indeed direct the film, which releases on May 27, 2016. It will be a direct sequel set-up from the events of next year’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and technically serve as the third film in the burgeoning “First Class” series.
Happy or mad? Think young Jean and Cyclops will be involved? “Younger” Wolverine?

Those guys are under contract, so it makes sense, if true (I certainly wouldn’t take it as writ), that they’d want to move ahead with a third picture featuring them. Complete the contract, so to speak.
I imagine that’ll wrap the ‘First Class’ trilogy.
I’m a huge admirer of that cast, and of the movie they made, so this makes me happy. It’ll be interesting to see where they go with the franchise afterward though.

Yeah, I wonder what lies ahead after “First Class” actors finish their contractual obligations.
i understand them. They really need to make XFC Trilogy first before going back to the original characters.. Our only hopes is making an X-men 4 on 2015 for the original characters.. or wait until 2017..
We’ll have to wait to see on that score. I hope they move forward with more original cast movies.

yeah. youre right. I have a feeling they really can’t pull the X-men: Apocalypse without the original cast.
Apocalypse seemed more like a future story to me, but idk. If they bring in young Jean, Cyclops, etc I might feel better about this focusing on the past characters….but how are the past characters going to win against Apocalypse? They’re gonna need major help. Either the Fantastic Four or Phoenix, imo.

and they really should bring young cyclops, jean and storm in the third one.. What’s the point of them in the X1 and the title First Class, if they didn’t introduced them as his first students. (which he mention to Logan in X1 btw)..
I think we can assume it’s not going to be ‘Age of Apocalypse’ (if this report turns out to be correct). There are many Apocalypse stories though, that precede Age’ that could work brilliantly in the ‘First Class’ milieu.
Here’s a thought as well: Perhaps that description of DoFP’s post credits scene is being misinterpreted. What if Magneto is one of Apocalypse’s Horsemen, not a host for Apocalypse?
Agreed, the first class crew are deserving of their own trilogy…I juust wish it wasn’t for an Apocalypse storyline, lol…but who’s to say everything will be resolved in this film. Hopefully there are future.opportunities for thd original trilogy gang.
Totally agree. I”m fine wi more FC crew movies, but not at the expense of OT movies, and not when they obviously could not handle Apocalypse.
My other major concern is just that we can’t afford to wait for more OT cast movies… they are getting old! We need them first 🙂 but i suspect that itself is the reason why they are trying to move forward with FC cast stuff.. because the actors are younger and can keep playing the characters for longer!
yeah. Apocalypse should be for the original cast. like what i said, Onslaught or Mister Sinister fit the story line for the third movie. Young Cyclops and Jean should be involved with Young storm..
They have stated since First class that this was the beginning of a new trilogy. In fact DOFP has the FC characters more in screen than the originals.
I think that’s cool. It’s fresh and they have more free space to make a great story.

VERY very happy. Except for the Sirs, whom I love, I really don’t care about the OT cast. They’ll probably bring new actors for young Jean, Scott, Ororo…
Hey noooo.. my biggest concern is that PATRICK STEWART & IAN MACKELLEN are getting so old.. I got impressed at the end of the credits scenes of THE WOLVERINE how old they look on cameras.. I didn’t understand IAN when he was talking and PATRICK had a hoarseness voice.. I mean if they’re gonna do another movie with the original cast it has to be after 2016 and patrick and ian are gonna be 75 and 78 respectivly :l
How much longer an X4? I mean why SINGER and THE WRITERS are getting wich so much trouble to correct events from X1..X2 & X3 if they’re not gonna explore that original wolrd again?!!!!

They should just made a trilogy with the FC cast first before bringing back the OT cast for a 4th film. It seems redundant that they keep going back and forth in the present and the past.
I prefer FC cast. Bring Banshee back. Perhaps with the cameo from the original cast. NO WOLVERINE !
I have no preference for either (though I maintain that X2 is the best X-Men movie to date). I think it’s sensible to wrap up the ‘First Class’ triptych before moving ahead with more present-day-set movies.
The decision to feature the original in the main body of the ‘First Class’ movies is quite clever though, because it ensures that audiences remain aware of that cast, so they can be picked up later if desired. 🙂
We do not know which cast will be in X-Men Apocalypose, It’s seems unlikely that Byran would not use the cast from the first two movies he directed. all he confirmed is that Apocalyspse would not be an alien, and again what if it is a movie that covers the villains’s rise from two periods. One from First Class and one from the original cast movies?! Byran has not confirmed which cast will be in Apoclaysope, NOT AT ALL> Vulture web-site sounds fake. WAIT UNTIL WE HEAR SOMETHING MORE OFFICAL FROM SINGER OR THE STUDIO.
Whoever said they will end the Apocalypse story in 2016. Didn’t the producers say they wanted stories to reach beyond one film?
They will set up Apocalypse in the DOFP sequel and pick up in the original cast timeline.
Just read in between the lines guys and relax! There are so many more X films to come!
im not worried about many x-men films to come.. I’m worried about the cast who going to portray the characters. They are not immortal mate.. they do get old.. and i’m not into recasting.. that’s a big no to me..
I just hope they get to the 80’s so we could have a chance to see Dazzler onscreen…
