THR reports that Emmy nominated actress, Morena Baccarin (TV’s Homeland, Gotham) has been cast as the female lead in Tim Miller’s DEADPOOL. If they’re sticking closely to the leaked screenplay, then she will play Deadpool’s love interest, Vanessa Carlysle aka Copycat. In the comics, Carlysle is a metamorph that can duplicate another being down to the cellular level.
Baccarin joins Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, T.J. Miller and Ed Skrein.
Filming begins next month for a February 12, 2016 theatrical release.
