
In its fourth weekend of release at the box office, DEADPOOL dropped to the number three spot, earning $16.7 million from over 3,624 domestic theaters. It was topped by new releases βZootopiaβ ($75 mil) and βLondon Has Fallenβ ($21.6 mil), and made more than βWhiskey Tango Foxtrotβ ($7.4 mil), dropping 46.2% from last weekendβs haul of $31.5 million. Itβs current haul in the USA now stands at $311.4 million.
It’s the top-grossing R-rated film of 2016 (so far) and ranks as the third highest-grossing R-rated film (domestically) behind βThe Passion of the Christβ ($370.8 mil) and βAmerican Sniperβ ($350.1 mil). βItβs been a phenomenal run,β said Fox distribution chief Chris Aronson. βEvery week it has exceeded our modeling.β
With $362.1 million coming from foreign markets, the film has garnered an astounding $673.6 million worldwide on a budget of just $58 million.
The Tim Miller-directed film starring Ryan Reynolds is the highest-grossing X-Men film ever (domestically), surpassing βX-Men: The Last Standβ ($234.2 mil) and βX-Men: Days of Future Pastβ ($233.9 mil). Worldwide, itβs currently the second biggest X-Men film, behind βX-Men: Days of Future Pastβ ($747 million).
Deadpool now the highest grossing Fox film ever not directed by either James Cameron or George Lucas.
