Check out this preview from a new interview with X-MEN: FIRST CLASS actor Lucas Till, thanks to IGN Movies!
So is Alex in control of his power?
“Just like Scott can’t control his power without glasses or a visor on, historically Alex has never been able to control his power either, so it’s always been outbursts with a lack of control. In the comics he has a suit that absorbs excess energy but it was more like a meter that would tell him how much power he has, whereas in this one I have something that channels it because I can’t control it myself. So I have a chest-piece that focuses the ray so I don’t blow my team-mates up.”
So do you get much action in the movie?
“Every one of us has a good piece of action in the film. All the mutants.”
Begin Spoiler!
Does Havok have a dark side?
“Definitely. When Havok first discovers his power in this one it’s because his foster sister has been kidnapped by a bully and who is threatening her with death and all of a sudden he comes out and kills this guy. He’s a guy who likes a fight, but also, he doesn’t want that much of a fight. He doesn’t want to accidentally kill people, and that’s something he’s always got to deal with. He likes the power but he doesn’t like the lack of control he has over his ability.”
End Spoiler.
But it’s got to be cool to actually become one of the X-Men.
“You have no idea! It’s pretty incredible. We just got to see some footage and it’s really coming together. I’m so proud and so happy to be a part of it. I remember when I was first auditioning to be a part of it, I thought it would be way to cool and there was no way it would actually happen, so I still can’t believe I’m in the X-Men and I’m Havok.”
So does he have a connection to Scott or not?? In the interview he notes Alex is Scott’s younger brother and stuff, but doesn’t seem to imply whether it actually relates to the movie?? :S
I REALLY like the look of this film and I’m genuinely excited to see it, but there seems to be some farfetched character choices…..
I’m really not one to get this picky usually, but it just seems odd that apparently –
– Mystique and Azeazal are in the film, but they won’t have any connections to each other or Nightcrawler
– Havok is in the film, but there’s been no indication he has anything to do with Cyclops
– Banshee is possibly not related to syren
Now perhaps they’re holding back on info and not telling us everything which is fine, but it seems from interviews that this is the case…….
Like I’ve said before, I firmly believe a movie like this should be a directors own adaptation and not an all out page by page retelling of the comic books, but it just seems odd that they would include these characters and then not connect the dots.
Wow, sorry that was a major rant….. I don’t usually get like that 😛 Perhaps I’m wrong….. May be best for me to just wait for the film first ay?! haha
Dude, you aren’t ranting. 🙂
I agree with you totally, they are going okay with now posting 2 more trailers, and it shows more and stuff. But they need to fill out the facts that LINK them to the XMEN and the COMICS! :S
Mystique and Beast- From what what they are saying- will most likely have Nightcrawler. I know its a big lie and you will think what the &*^%!!!
But it may be possible.
Isn;t Banshee related to Syren???!!!! WTF!!!!
Yeah Havok and Cyclops are not related, just like Juggernaut and Xaiver!
But think of it, this is from a prospective of a person who thinks not very much towards to the charcters history. There! I said it!
To me the fact that they made Havok’s beam red instead of blue was to connect him with Scott. They’re also showing the foster home aspect of his background. Maybe Scott’s a baby in the orphanage or something? I’m hoping the characters are related.
Fingers cross, I hope you’re right, Anthony.
Maybe they will do what they did in X Men origins Wolverine:
Like how they showed Storm as a toddler.
But let’s hope if thats how they do it- Show Scott as a baby- Let’s hope they don’t cut him out.
But Anthony, if they do make him look like a toddler, how will that connect to X Men origins Wolverine. I swear that movie was un called for a waste of film.
I stand to be corrected, and happily so…. It would just seem very weird if they weren’t at least mentioned as being related.
Still can’t get my head around the Beast/Mystique thing though. I wouldn’t really care so much if Azeazal wasn’t in it….. but he’s there and it baffles me a bit why they wouldn’t develop that.
Perhaps they’re won’t be any mention of Nightcrawler until a potential sequel when Mystique ‘turns to the dark side and has her way with mr nasty’ 😛
Oh and the Banshee/Siryn thing was probably me being a bit too ‘ranty’ as well. Obviously this film is set in the 60’s and if they are serious enough about continuity, it may be just a bit too early for Teen-Banshee to have a kid who probably shouldn’t be born til late 80’s at least (considering that X1 and x2 are set in the 2000’s and she was just a teen in them).
I guess the same applies to Nightcrawler and Cyclops really…..
Okay, PERHAPS I was a little quick to judge 😛
this awesome FInal trailer look,s very amazing and super awesome very cool
Dan, there will be thesed questions haunting us but I’m sure they will osrt it out when we se the movie!
Yeah I’m sure it’ll all be okay, Probably reacted too soon!! If not, I can complain after i’ve seen it 😛 haha
